Privacy Policy (Datenschutzerklärung)

I. General Information

We only process personal data insofar as necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. Your data will be deleted as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply.

II. Responsible Party

Wolkenmeister GmbH
Platz d. Einheit 2, c/o TechQuartier
60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Email: info@wolkenmeister.de

III. Your Rights

You have the right to request information about your stored personal data, its origin, recipients, and the purpose of its collection at no charge. You also have the right to request correction, blocking, or deletion of this data. For questions about data protection, you may contact us at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

IV. Server Log Files

Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits in server log files: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, IP address, and the time of the server request. The IP address constitutes personal data under Art. 4(1) GDPR. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating, securing and protecting our website against abuse. Log entries are stored for a maximum of 30 days and are not combined with other data sources to identify visitors.

V. Cookies & Local Storage

Our website does not set non-essential cookies by default. The cookieless analytics services described in Section VIII run on a legitimate-interest basis without setting any cookies. The Koalendar scheduling embed described in Section IX is loaded only on the pages where it is used and may set strictly-necessary technical cookies (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and § 25(2) TDDDG). A cookie banner shown on your first visit controls any non-essential cookies we might use for advertising or additional analytics beyond the cookieless services above; these are loaded only after you give explicit opt-in consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer.

VI. Contact Data

If you contact us via the contact form or email, your data will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for follow-up questions (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We will not share this data without your consent.

VII. Application Materials (CVs)

When you apply for a position via the careers page and upload a CV, the file is stored encrypted at rest in a Vercel Blob store hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). Legal basis is § 26(1) BDSG (data processing for employment purposes) together with your explicit consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR collected via the consent checkbox on the application form. The file is automatically deleted 6 months (180 days) after upload — this retention period is aligned with the limitation period for claims under § 15 of the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). You may request earlier deletion at any time by emailing info@wolkenmeister.de. Application form fields (name, email, role, optional message and LinkedIn / portfolio URL) are forwarded to a private internal Slack channel (Slack Technologies, EU/US) for evaluation and are not shared with any other third parties.

VIII. Analytics (Vercel Web Analytics & Speed Insights)

We use Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA) to measure aggregate page views and traffic sources. The service is cookieless: it does not set cookies, does not store any data in your browser, and does not create persistent visitor profiles. Vercel processes IP addresses only transiently to derive country-level location and a daily-rotating, salted hash for de-duplication; the raw IP is not stored. No cross-site tracking takes place. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring website performance (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because no information is read from or stored on your device, this processing does not require consent under § 25 TDDDG. International transfers to Vercel in the USA are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We additionally use Vercel Speed Insights (same provider, same cookieless model and basis) to measure Core Web Vitals — page-load metrics such as LCP, INP, and CLS — sampled from real visits; no cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. More information: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy. You can opt out by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.

IX. Scheduling Embed (Koalendar)

Our contact section embeds a scheduling widget provided by Koalendar (operated by NYAS LLC, USA). The widget loads JavaScript from koalendar.com and may set technical cookies and transmit your IP address, browser information and the URL of the page you are viewing to Koalendar in order to render the booking interface. Legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in offering visitors a way to book a meeting. International transfers to the USA are made on the basis of standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). If you would prefer to schedule without using the embed, please email us directly at info@wolkenmeister.de. Koalendar's privacy policy: koalendar.com/privacy.

X. Fonts

All fonts (Inter, Space Mono) are self-hosted on our servers. No fonts are loaded from Google Fonts or any other third party, and no IP address is transmitted for the purpose of font loading.

XI. Lead Generation Forms on Facebook & Instagram (Meta)

We run advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland) for users in the EU and by Meta Platforms, Inc. (USA). Some of these ads use Meta's Instant Forms — lead forms displayed and submitted directly within Facebook or Instagram. If you choose to submit such a form, the information you provide — your name, email address, your organization's website, and your answers to the form's questions — is collected by Meta and made available to us as the advertiser.

We use this data to send you the document you requested (the AI MVP Production-Ready Accelerator offer document) and, where you have given consent, to send follow-up emails about that service. Legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given via the consent checkbox on the form, together with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for delivering the document you requested. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by replying to any email or by contacting info@wolkenmeister.de; we will then delete your data unless we are legally required to retain it.

The lead data is forwarded to our email delivery service provider, for the purpose of sending the requested document and follow-up emails, and to a private internal Slack channel (Slack Technologies, EU/US) for review. It is not shared with any other third parties. Meta processes the data independently for its own purposes under its own privacy policy; international transfers to Meta in the USA are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Meta's privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
